Appellation Bouzeron

The Bouzeron AOC, for over 20 years

Obtained in 1998, the Bouzeron appellation covers the communes of Bouzeron and Chassey-le-Camp, in Saône-et-Loire. The parcels are located on the upper slopes, and represent 55 hectares.

It is the Aligoté only that is planted in the AOC, a white grape variety long used in Burgundy. The vines are subject to a continental climate, characterised by hot summers and cold winters. The soils of the appellation, composed of marl and limestone, are very suitable for Aligoté.

Characteristics of the white wines of Bouzeron

Bouzeron wines have a golden colour, quite light, and crossed by pale green reflections. The nose offers scents of white flowers, notably acacia, as well as mineral notes of flint and flint. This bouquet is completed by scents of lemon and hazelnut. In some vintages, there will be hints of honey and warm croissant that are very pleasant. On the palate, the wine is vibrant, round, robust and greedy.

This rather mineral white wine is a perfect accompaniment to an aperitif consisting of gougères and tarama. It also sublimates the iodine side of oysters, veal and poultry in cream sauce. With vegetarian dishes, it is associated with pasta or mushroom risottos. Finally, the white Bouzeron can be enjoyed with goat cheese, Comté or Beaufort.
