The winemaker
In the heart of the Médoc moors, near the town of Vertheuil lies the vineyard Reysson castle. Known in the 19th century under the term "Building-Bigot", the field will be renamed Raysson and Reysson, according to the vast area over which still lie in the footsteps of the medieval building that bore the name first. Cited among the remarkable wines of the town in the first edition of the "Féret", "Bordeaux and its Wines" in 1850, the property was acquired in 1891 by the famous financier Alfred Dreyfus, prosperous until the early 20th century, ranks among the best crus bourgeois of the town. Sold in 1933 by his heirs, the estate will pass from hand to hand, falling gradually into oblivion. The Japanese company Mercian Corporation made the acquisition in 1988, and in 2001 entrusted the management believed Dourthe, who became owner in 2014.
