Château Caillou is one of the jewels of the old Sauternes nobility. Since the 1855 classification, Château Caillou has been a second growth. Château Caillou owns 13 hectares of vines located in the commune of Barsac, in the Sauternes appellation. The soil is characterized by gravel. In Barsac, the soil is more varied, with limestone, clay and red sand in addition to gravel. The grape varieties used at Château Caillou are 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted. Only very pleasant grapes with botrytis are selected. 60% of the harvest is fermented in steel vats, the rest in new wooden barrels. Very little filtration is carried out, leaving the wine with all its richness and magnificent fullness. Les erables de caillou is a noble sweet wine of great finesse. Allergene:enthält sulfite
