Tasting notes from the Figaro Vin editorial staff: Black berries, fresh fruit. Ample, fresh mouthfeel, silky tannins, moderately intense, hint of graphite, good length, lovely wine. Rated 18.5/20 by Figaro Vin - 97/100 Wine Spectator - 94/100 Decanter - Jancis Robinson 17/20 This wine is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Proprietor Patrick Maroteau has modernized his techniques and now works on 60 hectares spread across the Saint-Julien appellation. Elegant, fresh and classic, the wines of this château express a perfectly singular style.
Appearance
Dense, dark garnet-red color, tending toward violet in its youth.
Aroma
The nose is composed of violets and empyreumatic aromas such as wood, torrefaction, vanilla... As the wine ages, it will reveal high-quality game and truffle aromas.

Taste
Saint-Julien wines are renowned for combining the feminine finesse of Margaux wines with the strength of Pauillac wines. As a result, we'll find full-bodied tannins with a strong note of black fruit, giving an interesting overall balance.
