Rated 18.5/20 by Figaro Vin - 97/100 Wine Spectator - 94/100 Decanter - Jancis Robinson 17/20 This wine is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Proprietor Patrick Maroteau has modernized his techniques and now works on 60 hectares spread across the Saint-Julien appellation. Elegant, fresh and classic, the wines of this château express a perfectly singular style.

Appearance

Dense, dark garnet color, drawing on purple in its youth.

Aroma

The nose reveals notes of violet and empyreumatic like wood, roasting, vanilla ... In aging, the wine will reveal very high quality game or truffle aromas.

The wines of Saint-Julien are famous for mixing the feminine finesse of Margaux wines with the strength of Pauillac wines. We will find therefore structured tannins with a note of black fruits important that will give an interesting overall balance.
