The Saint Emilion vineyards have been listed as a World Heritage Site since 1999. It is the largest wine-growing region in the Libourne region. st emilion wines are fleshy, spicy and often marked by a fruity note. the great king louis xiv dubbed them "the nectar of the gods".the wines have an intense red color with notes of red or black fruit on the nose. The tannic structure becomes silky and mellow with ageing, and the aromatic palette is enriched by more complex spicy notes. 1978 was a fine, classic-style year in which vegetation took its time. As is often the case in vintages where the sunny autumn brings maturity, the wines were slow to open up.
