    In a few words ...

"anyone who has visited saint-emilion knows that this is a magical terroir capable of great things. In the past, it was only fully exploited in the 1990 vintage, but it has more regularly reached great heights in the last three or four years. Bravo to the duo of nicolas thienpont and stéphane derenoncourt" robert parker. The estate shares a common history with many of Saint-Emilion's 1er Grand Cru Classés. The first similarity is geographical, with the immediate vicinity of the château canon to the southwest of the medieval town. The vineyards of the cru are adjacent to the 1er grand cru classé château angélus. Historically too, Château Beauséjour has much in common with prestigious estates such as Château Figeac. Indeed, in the 18th century, the beauséjour lands were handed down as a dowry to the figeac family, before jacques de carles ? Also owner of figeac, took possession in 1787. Numerous owners succeeded one another for almost a century before the château was divided in two. In 1869, the sale of a parcel of land gave rise to the present-day Château Beauséjour Bécot. The modern history of beauséjour began with the arrival of the duffau-lagarrosse family, still present at the château today. Their hard work and perseverance made the estate a 1er grand cru classé as early as 1955. Particularly coveted, the family sold three hectares of its vineyard to neighboring Château Angélus in 1969. Today, the château is run by the ninth generation of the family. In 2009, the duffau-lagarrosse family called on nicolas thienpont and stéphane derenoncourt to manage the vineyard, a partnership that had already proved its worth at châteaux pavie-macquin and la gaffelière, as well as at the prestigious clos fourtet. Already the proud heir to a 100/100 award for the 1990 vintage, the cru enjoyed two exceptional years in 2009 and 2010, which earned it two 100/100 awards. Robert parker es
