Château hosanna, a vineyard measuring just 4.5 hectares, is admirably situated in the heart of the pomerol plateau, adjacent to some of the appellation's most illustrious crus: to the north, château lafleur, to the east, château pétrus, to the west, château la fleur-pétrus, and to the south, the old château certan. Today's Château Hosanna vineyard is the culmination of a long and rich history. Named hosanna when acquired by ets. Jean-pierre moueix in 1999, the vineyard corresponds to certain parcels of the former château certan giraud, considered one of pomerol's premier crus since the 1950s. It was formerly part of the estate of the de May family, who settled on the Pomerol plateau in the 16th century and planted one of the appellation's first vineyards. Only the highest plots on the plateau were retained as part of the hosanna vineyard. The vineyard enjoys a soil combining red gravel and clay over iron crasse, renowned for its ability to produce very elegant, complex and powerful wines, revealing remarkable notes of dark chocolate. Very old Cabernet Franc vines, some dating back to 1956, contribute to the cru's unique elegance and complexity.

Pomerols are usually dark ruby in color, with violet highlights when young, and brick hues as they age.
