clementin de pape clément, second wine of chateau pape clément, is owned by bernard magrez. More affordable than its predecessor, it is also a great tasting experience, and is served at some of France's finest Michelin-starred restaurants. It is a blend of only 2 grape varieties: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. The communes of Pessac belong to the large Graves production area. The poor, gra... velly soil produces very delicate, full-bodied, fruity wines. 1987 was a good vintage. The summer was very hot, but heavy rainfall during the harvest made for a difficult vintage.
