In a few words ...

"perfection is the result of a sum of details, and nothing can ever be taken for granted" nicolas glumineau general manager since 2013. châteaux pichon-longueville magnify the entrance to the commune of pauillac. The owner sold the two crus in 1850 via a division between his children, which led to the three countesses taking possession of the château overlooking the estuary. The two crus are the majestic and imposing parent of this terroir, which concentrates in Pauillac 3 of the 5 premier grands crus classified in 1855.may-eliane de lencquesaing, also known as "la générale", no doubt because of her energetic character and her husband?s position, has masterfully managed the estate since 1978.the consistency and quality of the wines are remarkable, year after year. Reserved in their youth, the wines reveal all their subtlety after ten years in the cellar. The high proportion of Merlot makes Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande a little different from the rest of the appellation, with a more supple, atypical style. What also sets it apart is the unique position of the vines, with 11 hectares located in the commune of saint julien.the prestigious champagne house louis roederer, which also owns château de pez, acquired this 2nd cru classé in 2007. Five years later, major renovation work began on the winery and vat room to improve parcel selection (58 stainless steel vats and 12 oak vats). When the work was completed in 2012, nicolas glumineau, previously director of château montrose in saint-estèphe, took over the management of the estate.
