Weather conditions Nature was extremely generous in 2009, particularly favoring the vegetative cycle of the vines and the ripening of the grapes. Winter was a little colder than usual, but the region benefited from plenty of sunshine until March, with 204 extra hours of sunshine. Spring saw a very wet April and an often stormy May. From mid-June, summer sets in, characterized by remarkable sunshine and little precipitation. These very fine conditions, combined with high water stress (barely compensated for by a few light rainfalls), enabled the ripening process to come to full fruition, after a slow evolution. September also enjoyed ideal weather, with alternating cool nights and warm days. This weather was particularly conducive to the concentration of aromas and the accumulation of anthocyanins, enabling the vineyard to reach harvest in perfect condition. Harvesting began on September 23 for the Merlot and ended on October 6 for the Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are extremely healthy, very sweet, colorful and fruity, with exceptional quality potential. 2009 will undoubtedly go down as a vintage worthy of the greatest successes.climatic conditions Nature was extremely generous in 2009, particularly favoring the vegetative cycle of the vines and the ripening of the grapes.
