The Château Lascombes vineyard occupies some of the most sought-after plots in the Margaux appellation. Château lascombes benefits from an original variety of soils for the appellation. The vineyard is divided into three distinct groups of roughly equal surface area: a gravelly hilltop where Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are planted, clayey gravel where Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are planted, and clay-limestone plots where Merlot expresses itself perfectly; in fact, this grape variety dominates half of the vineyard, an original feature compared to other Margaux crus.
Aroma
The nose is open and very expressive. On aeration, the wine is rich and marked by ripe black fruit. The woody notes are discreet and very elegant.
Taste
The attack on the palate is smooth and velvety. Immediately afterwards, we are invaded by an explosion of fruit. The wine is concentrated, fat and opulent, while the tannins are fine and taut. The new barrels are forgotten in the face of such structure.
