Cabernet Sauvignon, the emblematic Médoc grape variety, covers 60% of the appellation, providing structure, bouquet and ageing potential. The wines have a dense, dark garnet color. After ageing, the tannic structure is fine, supple and elegant, with a magnificent length on the palate
everything is beautiful about this 1989 vintage, except for some high-yielding enthusiasts whose wines have passed their prime. The finest bottles of red are to be found in pauillac, saint julien, pessac léognan and saint emilion.
