In a few words ...

The second wine from the Château d'Issan vineyard, Blason d'Issan was created in 1995. It is produced from the youngest vines in the vineyard. This red wine is full-bodied and fruity, respecting the identity of its terroir. It is aged in barrels, containing new wood, for 14 to 16 months. Blason d'Issan is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This wine combines the elegance and finesse of its ... appellation with the suppleness and charm of Château d'Issan wines.  Read more

A Margaux tasted in 2018 as a 2012 vintage, typical of the appellation. The tannins are well-melted and greedy, giving a taste of undergrowth and light truffle, not heady but very present. This is the same wine as the Château appellation, but with vines less than 25 years old. The only difference is that it is less pronounced and can be kept less... even if it's good to drink now, it will also be forgotten in the cellar for "only" 20 years, unlike its elder brother, which will keep longer... a very fine wine!

I'm buying en primeur, so I haven't tasted it yet. However, I was able to taste the previous vintages and they are really very good.
