The winemaker

The Producer

Maison Star is the realization of the dream of a successful entrepreneur, Guillaume Brochard, specializing in luxury, he has experienced the high-end watch industry and made his fortune in jewelry with the creation and then resale of the brand Qeelin.

As a wine lover, he is aware of the difficulty of achieving true innovation in the world of Grands Crus and has taken a different approach. With Maison Le Star, he sets out with the objective of making the world of good wine accessible to the greatest number, to make a wider public aware of the emotion induced by a tasting. To do this, he decided to apply the methods of the luxury world to the mid-range wine sector.

In 2021, he thus acquired a first trading company, GRM, owning 200 hectares of vines spread over four wine estates. Then, he acquired a second "La Guyennoise", this time owning vineyards abroad and particularly in China and this time extending over 300 hectares. It is the most important trading company in the Entre-deux-Mers region and it also owns Château Cazeau, the place chosen by Guillaume Brochard to become the embodiment of the project.

The creation of a major wine brand

Maison le Star is the company grouping these wineries, it totals a global production of 40 million bottles. It is not about imposing identical practices or cultures on these very different properties, but about creating a coherent identity between estates sharing a common vision of vineyard work combining respect for wine-making traditions and a modern approach to wine production and distribution.

The goal is also to develop marketing and import structures and marketing practices that benefit all of the Maison Le Star estates.

The ambition of Guillaume Brochard and his associates is to develop a complete offer positioned on the mid-range to target young working people of the middle class who wish to consume good wines, but without having the budget to regularly afford great wines. It thus wishes to compete with producers from major wine-producing nations such as Australia, Spain or Chile and to offer quality French wines to the world at a fair price.

The chateaux

Six estates now make up the Maison Le Star vineyard :

- Chateau Cazeau spans two appellations, Bordeaux and Entre-Deux-Mers, on an exceptional terroir of clay-limestone slopes. Its vineyard is composed of 310 hectares of vines divided between red grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon) and white grape varieties (Sauvignon, Semillon and Muscadelle). The numerous distinctions received by its wines reward the great qualities of its vintages.

- Chateau Grandefont produces fresh, fruity and colorful wines in the Bordeaux appellation. The wine estate consists of 45 hectares planted with two grape varieties: a majority of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

- Chateau Picon has been producing wines for nearly 10 centuries, it is a sure bet of the vineyards in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation and its wines enjoy a fine recognition from the profession, connoisseurs and experts both in France and abroad.

- Chateau Guillaume Blanc is also an estate with an ancient and prestigious winegrowing history. Today it is conducted in integrated agriculture and its AOC Bordeaux Supérieur wines express all the richness and complexity of its terroir.

- Chateau Gandoy-Perrinat covers 100 hectares and produces AOC Entre-Deux-Mers and Bordeaux Supérieur wines by combining modern technology and traditional winemaking methods.

- Chateau Les Roques in Côtes de Duras is a small 10-hectare estate that produces wines of character using sustainable agriculture.
