The Château Vieux Moulin vineyard is located to the north of the Listrac-Médoc appellation. The estate is now run by the fourth generation of the Fort-dufau family. The estate extends over 10 hectares of mainly clay-limestone soil, 65% of which is planted with Merlot, bringing finesse and fruitiness to the wine. Aging in barrel for 12 months refines the tannins, bringing roundness, fatness and sweetness. A very fine balance on the palate makes it very pleasant to drink with young vintages. It can be cellared for 7 to 12 years. 38,000 bottles of Château vieux Moulin are produced each year.
