L'HÊTRE
In 2015, Jacques Thienpon fell under the spell of Château Goubau. Owned by a Belgian couple, it is the epicenter of a 10-hectare vineyard. The winemaker
Le terroir de L'hêtre
L'hêtre is a red wine that benefits from an exceptional terroir. On the one hand, the vineyard soil is entirely limestone. On the other, a mixture of chalk, limestone and clay supports the vines. Facing south/southeast, the vines are constantly caressed by a cool breeze. Practicing organic farming methods, the vines are harvested only when the grapes have reached maturity. The grapes are then aged for 15 months in new oak barrels.
L'hêtre wine
Composed of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet, L'hêtre has a beautiful purple color. On the nose, it's lively, energetic and reminiscent of the berries that surround the concession. It then reveals a rich texture with powerful tannins.
