The winemaker
The wines of the Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation are made from two grape varieties, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The terroir is part of the Saint-Emilion plateau, with its characteristic clay-limestone soil. The vines are around 35 years old and harvested by hand. Vinification takes place in large temperature-controlled vats. Fruity, gourmet and elegant, Château Joanin Bécot wines go wonderfully well with powerful dishes such as grilled red meats, hard cheeses or dark chocolate desserts.
