The 1998 vintage was very good. The dry, warm climate enabled the grapes to ripen beautifully, with thick skins that saved them from the September rains. The Grands produced complex, elegant, fine wines. The St Emilions and Pomerols produced velvety, powerful wines, while the Margaux and Graves were more fruity and delicate.
"Although the vineyard's grape varieties are predominantly Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the blend. The result is a well-balanced, well-constructed whole, which enhances the fine notes of smoke and cherry. "
