The Saint-Aignan plateau is one of the highest-quality parts of the Fronsac appellation. The vineyards of Château Hauchat la Rose face due south and southwest, opposite Pomerol. The particularity of the terroir lies in its extreme homogeneity. The soil is clay-limestone with asteria. The Hauchat estate was taken over in 1973 by the Saby family, from the in-laws of Jean Saby's sister. This wine is a Bordeaux classic. Beautiful acidity, supple, concentrated tannins. Château Hauchat La Rose has won several awards.
