Appellation Entre-deux-Mers
Discovering the Entre-deux-Mers AOC
The Entre-deux-Mers appellation owes its name to its geographical location. Indeed, it is located between the Garonne and the Dordogne, and is thus bounded by these two rivers. The 1440 hectares of vines are planted solely on a plateau.
The grape varieties of the appellation are muscadelle, sauvignon blanc and finally semillon. The vineyard is subject to an oceanic climate, and is planted on chalky-clay soils mostly.
The white wines of the Entre-deux-Mers AOC
The whites of the appellation offer a golden coat, quite pale. The nose is marked by white flowers as well as exotic fruits. There are also citrus scents, which bring a lot of freshness to the nose. On the palate, the wine is fine, delicate, lively and the freshness felt on the nose carries over to the palate. This is a wine to drink young, within the first two years.
Entre-deux-Mers can be enjoyed as an aperitif, with grilled fish, oysters and other shellfish. With fresh cheeses and apple pies, this white wine is also a good ally.
