The winemaker
An exceptional terroir and vineyard
A representative estate in the Sauternes appellation, it adjoins Château D'Yquem. Its production is quantitatively limited, a fact reinforced by an overriding quest for quality. The grape varieties are precisely defined: 90% Semillon, 7% Sauvignon and 3% Muscadelle. The traditional harvest is followed by a meticulous sorting of the grapes, the starting point for the elaboration that gives the wine its letters of nobility.
The estate's wines
The estate presents three exceptional wines. Château Rieussec is a premier cru classé since 1855, an exceptional Sauternes. Carmes de Rieussec is the estate's second wine. It is more citrusy than its big brother. Finally, R de Rieussec is an outstanding dry white wine, made from the same grapes as Château Rieussec.
