The winemaker

The Clos Marsalette estate

In Martillac, the gravelly soil features ridges caused millions of years ago by the Garonne River and is clay-limestone, composed of marine sediments. Over 12 hectares of reds and 1 hectare of whites, the Graves terroir is planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, as well as Sauvignon and Semillon, on vines averaging 20 years in age.

The Clos Marsalette wines

These wines stand out from the racy, woody cuvées of the Bordeaux region for their astonishing finesse and freshness. Clos Marsalette Rouge" is a blend of 50% Merlot with 49% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc, giving it a roundness and complexity appreciated by wine lovers.
