Clos du Clocher
(1 customer reviews)
Jean-Baptiste Audy acquired Clos du Clocher between 1918 and 1939. At the foot of the Pomerol church, this superb stone building and its 4.6 hectares of vines immediately appealed to him. A century later, the charm of the place has not ceased to work. Find out more

The winemaker
Terroir and vineyard of Clos du Clocher
Clos du Clocher is a wine estate nestled in the heart of the Pomerol plateau. Benefiting from the purity of the site, the soil is rich in clay, silt and gravel. To preserve this exceptional terroir, the winegrowers have opted for sustainable agriculture. As a result, yields are low, but the grapes harvested are of exceptional quality. The 4.6 hectares of Clos du Clocher are divided into three large plots. With 70% of the land, Merlot is unquestionably the dominant grape variety. The remaining 30% is devoted to old Cabernet Franc vines.
Clos du clocher wines
Unsurprisingly, all clos du clocher wines are Bordeaux bearing the Pomerol appellation. Round, with pronounced tannins, they go perfectly with red meats and cheeses.
