The winemaker

Jean DA FRE, a passionate avant-gardist, founded Château Vieux-Georget with a clear objective: to produce quality wines that respect nature. In 1984, he began his journey towards excellence by cultivating the entire estate organically, an unusual decision at the time that placed the estate among the pioneers of the organic movement in the region. The Château Vieux-Georget vineyard extends over 40 hectares of diversified clay and limestone soils, offering a palette of unique terroirs that give our wines incomparable richness and complexity. Our carefully selected grape varieties are carefully nurtured throughout the year, with the utmost respect for natural cycles and ecological balance. In the cellar, our team of passionate winemakers perpetuates traditional techniques while incorporating the latest advances in oenology. Each DA FRE family cuvée is the fruit of meticulous work, from harvest to ageing, aimed at preserving the authentic expression of our terroir while revealing the unique personality of each vintage. In 2024, a new era began for Château Vieux-Georget with the arrival of Antoine DA FRE, Jean's son, at the helm of the estate. Strengthened by the heritage passed on by his father and driven by the same passion, Antoine embodies the continuity of the family's commitment to quality, innovation and respect for the environment. Our range of wines reflects the diversity and richness of our terroir, from fresh, fruity whites to complex, elegant reds. Each bottle of Château Vieux-Georget is an invitation to discover the very essence of our estate and to share a moment of pleasure and conviviality.
