The winemaker
Terroir and vineyards of Château Tour des ternes
Spread over 15 hectares, the vines rival each other in beauty and firmness. The estate boasts a dual terroir. On one side, stony gravel occupies two-thirds of the plots. On the other, clay-limestone soil reigns supreme. True to its Saint-Estèphe appellation, the terroir is characterized by a majority of Merlot grapes. Alongside Merlot, we find 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.
The wines of Château Tour des ternes
In all, five wines come out of the vats at Château des Ternes. Alongside the classic Cru bourgeois named "château des ternes", epicureans will find four other round red wines.
