The winemaker
Château Tour Bicheau is located on the left bank of the Bordeaux vineyard. It originated in the 19th century when André, the first generation of the Daubas family, bought the vineyard property. He progressively developed the vineyard and built the famous crenellated tower which gave the Château its name.
Four generations later, Hugues Daubas and his wife expanded their vineyards and managed to double the number of hectares. They develop this quality vineyard and modernize their equipment. Today, one more generation later, a new page is written with the arrival of their son Patrick. After having studied viticulture and oenology, it is quite naturally that he takes over with passion the exploitation of the domain by mixing tradition and modernity.
Château Tour Bicheau is a vineyard where respect for nature, the terroir and the work of the vine are essential values. The vines are in organic conversion since 2019. The vineyard is located on the plateau of Haut Portets, an area allowing the production of noble and racy wines. The vineyard is planted with the following grape varieties for the black grape: 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. As for the white grape: 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc.
Their wine is produced in AOC Graves where the vines benefit from a temperate oceanic climate, the soils are composed mainly of gravel, sand and clay. On the higher areas, the subsoils are sandy-gravelly, and on the slopes clay-limestone or clay-gravelly.
