The winemaker
Château Teynac is part of the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation. With a terroir similar to that of Château de Beychevelle, the wines from this small, 11-hectare family estate are highly sought-after by wine lovers. The vines are located almost entirely on the Beychevelle plateau in St-Julien, "mixed" with those of illustrious neighbors. Far from being content with the prestige of the appellation, Château Teynac benefits from its own philosophy, the attentive care afforded by its reasonable size, and top-level equipment. The château's philosophy is characterized by a moderate and predictable pricing policy, a slight insensitivity to passing fashions in winemaking, and above all a resolute policy of quality. he Teynac vineyard is located on the most beautiful gravelly hilltops of Saint Julien, on the soils of the village of Beychevelle, landlocked in the middle of the Grands Crus Classés that occupy 90% of the appellation's surface area. Saint Julien is an enclave between Pauillac to the north and the AOC Haut Médoc of Lamarque and Lussac to the south. Two rivers (Jalles) form its natural boundaries. In the Médoc, Saint-Julien represents the happy medium in every respect, thanks to its specific micro-climate and unique terroir, made up exclusively of medium gravel terraces. As a result, Saint-Julien wines express the perfect balance between the finesse of Margaux and the full-bodied character of Pauillac.
