The winemaker
Chateau Sénéjac: an estate in the heart of nature
In the 16th century, squire Nicolas de Bloys began planting his first vines here, at the heart of a 150-hectare estate bathed in the typical landscape of the Haut Médoc and its diverse farmlands. Today, Château Sénéjac boasts 45 hectares of vines. Respect for the biosphere and the practice of integrated winegrowing have led the estate to be awarded the "Haute Valeur Environnementale" certificate.
The style of Château Sénéjac wines
The grape varieties are typical of the Médoc: a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), followed by Merlot (32%). To these are added Cabernet-Franc (10%) and Petit-Verdot (4%). The estate's wines are available under 5 different labels, all presenting delicate wines of great aromatic finesse. Dark, almost black in color, with hints of black fruits and spices in their early years, these wines can also be enjoyed after a few years' ageing to rediscover the strength and breed of their terroir.
