The winemaker
The history of Château Rouget
Château Rouget was built in 1700 by the Bayonne family. Several passionate winegrowers followed, before the Labruyère family acquired it in 1992, managing a 17-hectare estate. With the aim of restoring the reputation of one of Pomerol's finest growths, the Labruyère family strives to produce precious vintages every year, anchoring Pomerol Château Rouget wines among the leaders of the Right Bank.
The wines of Château Rouget
Made from Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%), Château Rouget and Carillon de Rouget offer, depending on the vintage, aromas of spice, cocoa and ripe fruit. The deep, delicate flavors and consistent quality of these wines, so dear to Édouard Labruyère, place these two crus, vintage after vintage, in the top tier of Pomerol appellation wines.
