The winemaker
The grapes from the 23-hectare estate's sustainable agriculture are expertly processed to produce four wines, including three reds. The fruity, gourmand and elegant "Château Roc de Calon" AOC rubs shoulders with "Daylis" and "L'Écrin", complex experiences with deep woody notes, and finally the "Nuance" rosé, with its light notes of peach and citrus.
Château Roc de Calon has built its history over 4 generations. In the Laydis family, wine is a shared passion that's passed down through the generations. The estate entered the family in 1922. Théophile Laydis acquired a Saint-Emilion terroir on the Butte de Calon. Château Roc de Calon and its 23 hectares form the ideal pairing for the different grape varieties grown (mainly Merlot). It's now up to Bernard, Sylvie, Thomas and Marie Laydis to follow in their ancestors' footsteps.
