History of Château Quinault l'Enclos
Château Quinault l'Enclos is at the heart of a mythical and almost lost history. The vineyard predates the actual existence of the manor house, which only came into being in the 19th century. The château takes its name from the valiant poet Philippe Quinault. Over the centuries, the estate has been enriched by the know-how of families such as Alain Reynaud, Bernard Arnault and Baron Albert Frère. In modern times, the estate is officially owned by Bernard Arnault and his family.
A vineyard closer to you
Château Quinault l'Enclos is an exceptional estate that stands out for its location in the heart of the city. Its vineyards extend over 18 hectares in the Saint-Émilion sub-region. It benefits from the richness of the Bordeaux terroir, cradled by a climate conducive to the growth of quality grapes. The grapes are harvested by hand, but the vineyard has opted out of organic farming due to its incompatible geographical location. However, advanced techniques are used to irrigate the vines with pure thermal spring water, giving them a unique freshness.
Wines enriched by a varied culture
Château Quinault l'Enclos grows mainly red grapes. It offers a raw, warm and delicate taste. The combination of Cabernet Franc (30%) and Merlot (70%) reveals a languorous, delicately acidic palate. Château Quinault l'Enclos vintages lose none of their juicy freshness when served as aperitifs for dishes cooked in olive oil.
