The winemaker
Chateau Pourquey Gazeau soil and vineyard
The 80 hectares of Château Pourquey Gazeau are essentially made up of clay-limestone slopes. A closer look reveals that the soils are essentially made of Olicogene asteriated limestone. Benefiting from full southern exposure and gentle slopes, the soils are well drained. At the same time, the grapes are heated and quickly reach maturity.
The wines of Château Pourquey Gazeau
Château Pourquey Gazeau uses Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to produce its red wines. Experienced oenologists will recognize notes of Sauvignon, Semillon and Muscadelle in Château Pourquey Gazeau wines. Château Pourquey Gazeau also produces a number of rosés. Made from 50% Cabernet franc, 25% Merlot and 25% Malbec, they are the perfect accompaniment to grilled meats.
