The winemaker
Château Pont de Pierre was born of a love affair between one man, Robert Vergniol, and the vineyards of Lussac. In 1947, Robert Vergniol decided to buy the land that would become Château Pont de Pierre. Through careful nurturing and judicious purchases, he transformed what were still just fields and a few vines into a splendid estate in the heart of the Lussac appellation, whose reputation is well established. His son, Bernard Vergniol, took over the estate and continues to make this wine famous the world over.
