The winemaker
Chateau Picque caillou vineyards
In the past, the city of Bordeaux was surrounded by gravel fields dedicated to the cultivation of grapes. With urbanization, these temples to oenology have gradually disappeared. Château Picque caillou, the last bastion of these age-old traditions, is determined not to give in. Covering one hectare, the estate produces only white wines bearing the Pessac-Léognan label. The fruit of the union of Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes, these are at their peak three to four years after bottling.
The wines of Château Picque caillou
According to the experts, the best white wine from château Picque caillou is the cuvée 2020. On the nose, the freshness of the countryside comes to the fore, before giving way to hints of wild blackberries. Perfect with aperitifs and seafood, Château Picque caillou's white wines are well worth a visit.
