The PICOURNEAU estate is located in the commune of Vertheuil, in the heart of the "Haut-Médoc contrôlée" appellation zone, which covers less than 500 hectares and is in the immediate vicinity of the most prestigious communal appellations of Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac. The "Haut Médoc" appellation includes several estates classified Grand Cru in 1855.
