The winemaker

The history of Château Peyrabon

The first records mentioning Château Peyrabon date back to 1766, when it was already mentioned as a winery. This sumptuous Renaissance-style building had several owners, before being bought in 1998 by Patrick Bernard, a Bordeaux wine merchant and head of the Millésima company. The new owner undertook an extensive 2 million euro renovation of both vineyard and winery.

The Château Peyrabon vineyard

The Château Peyrabon vineyard lies in the heart of the Haut Médoc, a few kilometers from Pauillac and the Gironde estuary. Its vines belong to the Pauillac appellation. 5 hectares are devoted to the production of Château La Fleur Peyrabon wine, renowned for its excellence. The Château Peyrabon vineyard is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which accounts for 57% of the vines. This black grape variety is emblematic of the left bank of the Bordeaux region. The vineyard is completed by 35% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.

The wines of Château Peyrabon

Château Peyrabon - Haut Médoc

Château Peyrabon's iconic cuvée is a rich, structured Cru Bourgeois from the Haut Médoc. Aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which are new, the wine is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot complete the blend.

Château La Fleur Peyrabon - Pauillac

Château La Fleur Peyrabon is produced from 5 hectares of vines in the prestigious Pauillac appellation. This Cru Bourgeois joins the small circle of 5 Crus Bourgeois in the AOC. Aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 50% of which are new, the wine offers an exceptional aromatic bouquet, with a highly structured palate.

Château Pierbone - Haut Médoc

Château Pierbone is the estate's second wine, produced only in great vintages. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine is renowned for its density, fruitiness and long, persistent finish with subtle spicy notes.
