The winemaker
Château Pavie-Decesse was long hidden in the shadow of its elder brother, Château Pavie. The two estates, both Grand Cru Classé de Saint-Emilion, were separated in 1885, but still share many similarities. Situated on the same terroir, Château Pavie-Decesse benefits from an exceptional location on the limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion. In 1997, when it was bought by Gérard Perse, Château Pavie-Decesse took off and became a little more separate from its elder brother. The 3.5-hectare estate is planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
