The winemaker
The takeover of Château Moulis, whose wines had already been praised in the 1876 edition of the Féret guide, took place in 2015.
This property had been through many ups and downs before it was acquired by the Darricarrère family in the early 1960s, who sold it to a Chinese investor in 2012. Two years later, the latter decided to part with the property at a time when major work was required on the vineyard and all the farm buildings.
It was against this backdrop that the property was presented to Christian Guillot who, despite the scale of the work both in the vineyard and in the cellars, was won over and decided to buy it. Château Moulis is now part of the family estate, run and marketed by Marie-Caroline Guillot with the support of her father. This 13-hectare property, situated on terroirs rich in clay and grünz gravel, is being remodeled to make it one of the appellation's benchmark properties.
