(5 customer reviews)
Château Mayne Lalande has been producing wines in the Listrac-Médoc appellation for 40 years. It was founded by Bernard Lartigue, a passionate winegrower who started out in the business in the 1970s with one hectare of vines and grapes vinified by the cooperative. Today, the estate's vineyards cover 14 hectares in Listrac and 5 hectares in Moulis. Find out more

The winemaker
The estate's first wine, Château Mayne Lalande, has been classified Cru Bourgeois supérieur for almost 20 years. It is recognized by international experts as one of the finest vintages in the Listrac Médoc appellation.
Bernard Lartigue comes from a family of farmers, and as a true man of the soil, he is committed to preserving the environment and biodiversity. He worked the vines with respect for the terroir, using traditional techniques such as grassing and soil aeration. He also kept inputs to a minimum.
He chose to work with controlled yields and was advised by oenologist Marc Quertinier and the owner of the prestigious Château de l'Angélus, Hubert de Boüard. He worked with great rigor to produce cuvées of excellence, in the purest tradition of Bordeaux wines. He passed away in October 2020, and the estate is now run by his daughter, Alice-Jeanne...
The property extends over a terroir made up of clay-limestone, silica and gravel soils. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are planted in equal proportions on 90% of the vineyard, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot making up the remainder. Over the years, Bernard Lartigues has built up and improved an excellent production tool, and Château Mayne Lalande now boasts a magnificent new barrel cellar and a large vat room. The grapes are harvested mechanically and then sorted in the winery. The grapes are vinified by plot in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Aging lasts from 12 to 16 months, and the wine is not filtered before bottling.
