The coronet adorns the label is that of Count de Robien who in 1886 meets the cru bourgeois Séguineau Deyris with other parcels of Marsac district. He did not give his name to believed, saying Marsac Séguineau sounded better. It is in the 6th edition of Ferret in 1893 that is mentioned for the first time the name of Château Marsac Séguineau ranked in the top crus bourgeois. Château Marsac Séguineau was bought in 2001 by a group of institutional (Crédit Agricole, Caisse des Dépôts and Investment Quebec) which has since 1996 the neighboring vineyard of Château La Tour de Mons.
