Along with Château La Rame, Loubens is one of Sainte-Croix-du-Mont's most emblematic estates. Benefiting from a first-rate terroir on south-facing slopes, the fossilized limestone produces sweet wines (100% Semillon) that may not be as fine as Sauternes, but have a rich palette of aromas and, in great years, powerful ageing potential. They then take on aromas of cinchona, orange peel and sweet spices, bringing them close to the greatest Bordeaux sweet wines.
