The winemaker
Located in the Montagne Saint-Emilion appellation, Château Lestage stretches over 18.5 hectares. Its vineyards benefit from an exceptional location on the highest hill in the region, offering soil similar to that of Pomerol. The estate came into the family when Kurt Bouchert bequeathed him a parcel in Saint-Emilion as a reward for his actions during the siege of La Rochelle. The estate grows Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, although its wines are predominantly Merlot.
