The winemaker
Chateau Lamothe was built in the sixteenth century back of a Merovingian fort, witnessed the struggles qu'essuyèrent Sauternes inhabitants against the Saracen invasions in the eighth century and the ninth century Norman. Later, during the "Hundred Years War", the book served as a powerful "fear." The lords of Fargues and Budos were the owners. In 1814, Jean-François Borie sells Lamothe in a British-born merchant, Mr. Dowling. Since 1961, this is a highlight on the Ciron Valley, two of these tributaries and the pretty village of Sauternes John and Guy Despujols in 1989, is committed to high quality soil. The vineyard is located west of the village of Sauternes. This is a highlight of the appellation, it overlooks the Ciron Valley. The vineyard has an average age above 40 years and draws its sap and balance in a deep gravelly soil and clay. The climate balance lies in intense sunlight refreshed by an ever-present wind. The vine is a creeper and kind she likes to get high to breathe, having your head warm and the roots cool. The vines are a very respectable age, mostly from plantations graft on site, a technique that has the major advantage of a perfect adaptation of the plant to the soil.
