The winemaker

Château Gugès is located in Cissac-Médoc in the canton of Pauillac. Its history began in April 1769 when Jeanne and Bertrand Braneyre acquired 5 hectares of vines in Cissac and began producing wine under the name of Château Braneyre Les Gunes. Successive heirs contributed to the recognition and fame of this Cru Bourgeois until the end of the 1950s. In the 1960s and 1980s, the Château changed owners again with the Lusset-Gugès family and the Gugès family.

Finally, in 2017, Mr. Zhuravlev took over the reins of the castle bringing a modernization of the equipment while taking care to respect and the history and heritage of the estate. Today, the Château's vineyard covers about ten hectares on a gravel terroir mixed with sand and clay. The grape varieties are mainly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot but also Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
