The winemaker
The Grand Mayne terroir
Set in clay-limestone soil, the Grand Mayne vineyard faces southwest, which is ideal for sunshine and weather conditions. The plots are pruned in the Bordeaux style to ensure that the grapes selected are of the highest quality. The grape varieties grown are Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
The cuvées offered by Château Grand Mayne
The estate offers two Saint-Émilion grands crus. The "Château Grand Mayne" cuvée, aged for 18 months, is a wine for laying down that strikes a subtle balance between finesse and power. The 2016 cuvée, for example, is racy and full-bodied, with atypical roundness and a ruby-red color. The "Filia de Grand Mayne" cuvée, made from the vineyard's young vines, has a lighter touch.
