Château Grand Corbin-Despagne
(11 customer reviews)
Family-owned for seven generations, Château Grand Corbin Despagne is part of a much larger estate whose origins date back to the Prince Noir, a famous 14th-century English nobleman. It represents a prestigious appellation, defended by a family that has been present in St. Emilion for several centuries and has owned the estate since 1812. Find out more

The winemaker
A Grand Cru classé on an exceptional terroir
The extensive 38-hectare vineyard stretches over sandy-clay soil on the gravelly plateau at the junction of St-Émilion, Pomerol and Cheval-Blanc. The vineyard is planted with 75% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc, all under integrated viticulture.
The wines of Château Grand Corbin-Despagne
Château Grand Corbin-Despagne has been a classified Grand Cru since 2006. It had always been, but had lost this classification for ten years. Today, the qualitative approach is strongly improved, especially as the estate is converting to organic farming. A second wine, Petit Corbin-Despagne, is of the highest quality, vinified mainly from the estate's young vines.
