The winemaker

With 18 hectares of vineyards, production is not quantitatively impressive, especially as the estate makes no concessions on quality. St-Émilion's famous clay-limestone plateau makes for a great wine. The grape varieties are 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet-Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet-Franc. Château FOurtet's traditional, rigorous winemaking methods allow the already exceptional fruit to transcend, resulting in long-keeping Bordeaux wines with an absolutely prodigious reputation.
