The history of Château Fontesteau


Château Fontesteau was built in the 13th century and completely renovated in 1997. The estate is surrounded by 100 hectares of meadows and oak forests, giving the place an incredible charm.

Chateau Fontesteau terroir and vineyard characteristics


Château Fontesteau's vines are planted on limestone soils covered with gravel. For the past 20 years, harvesting has been carried out with the utmost respect for the environment, thanks to sustainable agriculture. The estate's owner, a wine enthusiast, regularly organizes wine tours and tastings. He is proud to organize these events to share his passion.

The wines of Château Fontesteau


Château Fontesteau's wine-growing estate covers 32 hectares of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Several cuvées are produced on this estate, the two main ones being the "Château Fontesteau" cuvée and the "Variation de Fontesteau" cuvée. These are quality wines known under the Haut-Médoc appellation. These wines are highly appreciated in the region.
