The winemaker
The property is remarkably located near the town and on the road leading from Bordeaux to Toulouse. The presence of the Romans in the 1st Century Advent J.C. about the town wad think that an early wine industry was born there. Very wealthy owners and large traders succeed as head of Ferrande castle. In the 1960s, the admiral Delnaud, a great lover of wine and horse racing, bought the estate. The Castel family becomes owner of the Castle in 1992. This is the beginning of many qualitative investments both in the vineyard at winery. Since then, year after year, the Ferrande castle restored to its former glory. The identity of a great wine is a marriage between a good grape varieties and an exceptional terroir. In the heart of the Graves, Château Ferrande enjoys this particular terroir known as one of the largest in the region. The soil consists mainly of sand and gravel containing particularly large pebbles on the surface. Very draining, hot night, this soil is conducive to rapid maturity and production of large elegant and stylish wines. The high plant density provides the grapes with a high potential flavors and finesse while ensuring good concentration.
